The Verizon Impact Partner (VIP) series highlights Verizon’s inspiring partner organizations working to transform the communities they serve. Verizon partnered with Digital Girl, BronxWorks and HYPOTHEkids.

Digital Girl was founded in 2014 as a means of combating the persistent lack of diversity among Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) professionals. Michelle Gall founded the organization as part of her mission to foster a love of stem among inner city youth—especially girls—so they feel encouraged to pursue careers in STEM.

A lifelong love of STEM must be fostered from a young age—that’s why Verizon was proud to support BronxWorks and HYPOTHEKids to bring hands-on science to children in New York City and beyond. Over the summer, hundreds of children convened to take part in enrichment opportunities the Verizon Digital Inclusion and STEM Enrichment Grant supported. At the HYPOTHEkids table, kids were even able to learn how to make their own stethoscope.
